Some folks have asked me what I like about art. What types of art and what I like to look at. Here's the best way I can answer that....
[link] Go to Vist the ARC Museum. You will not be disappointed. Sculpture and what I call traditional art. Good stuff. From the Masters and more. Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Cote, Michaelangelo, Ruebens, Van Gogh. It's all in there. I think my favorite is William Bouguereau. Never heard of him? Me either. Not until I found ARC. The last 30 or 40 years have been tough on traditional art. So tough in fact that modernists decided to go on the attack against it. Evidence: I never heard of William Bouguereau until I found this web site. How do I define art? Look at William Bouguereau's paintings. Look at the faces. Then the hands and then the feet. Attention to detail. That's art. Of course some of the traditional art is good stuff and I like it. I'm a huge anime fan. But art in it's most basic form is supposed be something that brings the beauty of the world to you. It should look real. Not fake or out of perspective. ARC has their own philosophy on what art is and they are not ashamed to share it with the world. There's a tab for it right there. Right below the Visit the Museum tab is the ARC Philosophy tab. Check it out. These are people with untold years of experience. And they know how to get their opinion across to people. And don't forget to check out that Museum. Last I checked there were over 80,000 images in their Museum. It used to be free. Not long ago they started charging $25 to see the HiResolution images. But you don't have to pay if you just want to look at the regular pics. I paid.
